Can zip ties be outside of the robot parameter before the beginning of the match?

Once you place the ROBOT on the PLAYING FIELD (even before the MATCH starts) and while it is competing you can only use the materials provided in the Kit of Parts.

I meant to ask if the zip ties (that came with the kit of parts) can stick out of the robot parameter (50*50*50).

Nothing must extend beyond the initial dimension requirements, including zip ties.
